RALSTON, NE - The Omaha Lancers (6-12-0-2) will face two Illinois based Eastern Conference teams this weekend.
Saturday the Lancers will face off in Geneva, IL to take on the Chicago Steel (12-7-1-0). The Steel is ranked second in the Eastern Conference with 25 points, are on an 8 game winning streak and are 8-2 in their past ten games. There will be familiar faces on both sides of the ice. This will be the first time Cole Kodsi, Jaden Shields will take on their ex-team, and the same with Mathieu De St. Phalle, Josh Groll, Cole Quisenberry, and Jimmy Dowd. Austen Long was also a member of the Steel winning a Clark Cup in 2017. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 pm and can be seen on HockeyTV.
The Lancers will then get ready for a Sunday tilt with the Eastern Conferences third-ranked squad, the Central Illinois Flying Aces in Bloomington, IL. The Flying Aces (11-11-2-0) are one spot and one point behind the Steel. The Aces are also looking to turn around a 4 game losing streak while being 4-6 in their past ten games. Sunday’s game is set for 4:05 pm and can be heard on KOIL 1290 AM and seen on HockeyTV.

Head Coach David Wilkie, Defenseman Travis Mitchell, and Forward Jan Kern will not be in either game this weekend as they will be at the WJAC.

Nick Abruzzese leads the team with 22 points (5-17-22) with an assist Tuesday night in a 3-2 win over the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders.
Matteo Pietroniro leads all Steel defenders in scoring with 15 points. His seven goals are second among USHL defensemen this season and his 15 points (7-8-15) is fifth.
Adam Robbins has collected points in eight of his last nine games. The Princeton commit has picked up 11 points (5-6-11) in the stretch that dates back to November 9.
Justin Robins has the most starts in net for the Steel with 17. Currently holds a 10-5-1-0 record, a 3.37 GAA and a .879 SV%
