GENEVA, IL - The Omaha Lancers fell to the Chicago Steel on Saturday night at Fox Valley Arena by a final score of 2-1.
In the first period, Christian Sarlo (5:42) scored the first goal of the game. Chicago kept the 1-0 lead into the first intermission.
The Steel kept on the attack early in the second period when Mathieu De St. Phalle (3:42) netted the puck to get the Steel ahead 2-0.
With an extra attacker on the ice and late in the final period, the Lancers got the game to with in one goal. Ryan Savage (17:28) tipped in a pass in from Kalle Eriksson. The Lancers kept Schmid on the bench to round out the final frame but could not get the puck past Herbst and fell by a final score of 2-1.
The Lancers are now 6-13-0-2 on the season.
The Lancers return to action on Sunday, Dec. 9th vs the Central Illinois Flying Aces at Grossinger Motors Arena in Bloomington, IL. Puck drop is scheduled for 4:07 pm and will be streamed on HockeyTV and KOIL News Talk 1290 AM.
