RALSTON, NE - The Omaha Lancers were shutout by the Muskegon Lumberjacks by a final score of 4-0 on Friday night at Ralston Arena.
In the first period, the Lumberjacks cashed in on their first power play chance of the night. Igor Larionov (7:35) received a tic-tac-toe pass from Bukes and Lynch to get the Lumberjacks ahead 1-0.
In the second frame, the Lumberjacks doubled their lead. Egor Afanasyev (5:19) scored on the breakaway. Muskegon kept a 2-0 lead going into the second intermission.
In the third period, the Lumberjacks added two more goals to shutout the Lancers 4-0. Jake Kucharski stopped 22 of the 26 shots that he faced. The Lancers are now 7-14-0-2 on the season.
The Lancers return to the ice on Saturday night for game two of the weekend series against the Lumberjacks. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 pm.
