Empty Net Goal Solidifies Win for Central Illinois

BLOOMINGTON, IL - The Omaha Lancers were topped by the Central Illinois Flying Aces on Friday night by a final score of 3-1.

The Aces took a 1-0 lead in the first period at 15:09 in the first period. The attack from Central Illinois continued as they doubled their lead in the second period leading 2-0.

The Lancers got on the board with 4-minutes to play in the final period. With an extra attacker on the ice, Tyler Carpenter (16:00) scored his 4th goal of the year sneaking the puck past Gibson’s five-hole. With the net still empty and on the attack, the Lancers kept putting shots on Gibson. The Flying Aces sent the puck out of their own end and into the empty Omaha net to solidify the 3-1 win.

The Lancers are now 8-17-1-2 on the season. In his first showing as a Lancer, Mor stopped 27 of the 29 shots he faced.
