Lancers Fall in Shootout to Fighting Saints, 2-1

DUBUQUE, IA - The Omaha Lancers went down to the wire on Saturday night against the Dubuque Fighting Saints falling in overtime, 2-1.

The Lancers got on the scoresheet first in the opening period. Aleksi Peltonen (8:52) found the puck loss next to Aaron Randazzo and snuck it in. The Lancers kept the 1-0 lead going into the first intermission.

In the second period, the Fighting Saints evened up the game at 13:05. Riese Gaber was called on the goal and the game stayed tied 1-1.

After a scoreless third, and overtime period the game went into a shootout. No Lancer was able to score on Randazzo as one Fighting Saint scored on Robbel. Dubuque took the shootout win 2-1.

The Lancers are now 8-17-1-3 with 20 points in the USHL Western Conference.

Omaha returns to the ice on Friday, January 11 to take on the Sioux Falls Stampede at the Denny Sanford Premier Center. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 pm.
