RALSTON, NE - The Omaha Lancers (8-17-3-1) hit the road to face the Sioux Fall Stampede, Des Moines Buccaneers and then return home for a Sunday tilt against the Tri-City Storm.
Friday the Lancers will take on the Sioux Falls Stampede for the second time this season. The Stampede is ranked fourth in the USHL West with 29 games played and a record of 17-9-2-1 for 37 points. The previous time the two played Sioux Falls edged Omaha in a shootout, 4-3. That game was the first for defenseman Jaden Shields as he forced overtime with a goal in the last two second of the third period. Puck drop for Friday night is at 7:05 pm.
The road trip continues on to Des Moines to face the Buccaneers on Saturday night. The Buccaneers are ranked second in the USHL West with a 20-10-1-2 record with 43 points. Saturday will be the third time Omaha will face Des Moines. In the two prior showings, Des Moines topped Omaha 8-3 on Oct 21 and 5-2 Dec 27. Puck drop is at 7:05 pm.
Sunday the Lancers will close out the three-game weekend with a home tilt against the Tri-City Storm. The Storm is the top-ranked team in the West with a 23-6-1-1 record with 48 points. The Storm and Lancers have faced off seven times prior to Sunday evening. Tri-City has the best of the season record against Omaha, 5-1-1. Puck drop is at 4:05 pm at Ralston Arena for Operation NETS night. Omaha Metro Police will be in attendance at Sunday’s game to collect new or gently used sports equipment. The sports gear will be handed out to Omaha Metro youth.
