RALSTON, NE - The Omaha Lancers took down the Des Moines Buccaneers in game two of the weekend series by a final score of 2-1.
In the first period and on the power play, Tyler Carpenter (10:58) buried the puck underneath Roman Durny to get the Lancers ahead 1-0. The goal was Carpenters 9th of the season. The Lancers kept the 1-0 lead going into the first intermission.
In the second period, Reed Lebster (8:27) shot the puck through traffic scoring on Jon Mor off of a Lancer defender to even the tides 1-1. Later in the middle frame, Cam Berg (11:25) broke past the Des Moines defense to score on the breakaway to get the Lancers ahead again 2-1. Berg would end up scoring the game-winning goal as the Lancers topped the Buccaneers 2-1.
Jon Mor stopped 21 of the 22 shots he faced from Des Moines. The Lancers improve to 16-19-2-4 on the year with 38 points. Omaha is currently riding a season-best 5 game winning streak.
