RALSTON, NE - Omaha Lancers defenseman Christian DiCesare announced his recent commitment to play collegiate hockey at the University of Notre Dame.
“I want to thank Coach Wilkie and his staff for the role they played in my development this year and for giving me the opportunity to reach this point. Notre Dame is a dream school. I look forward to the dual challenge of academic and athletic achievement at such an incredible institution.”
The Morristown, NJ native is in his first season in the USHL. So far this year, DiCesare has played in 42 games with the Lancers and has recorded 4 points (1-3-4).
“We are very happy for Christian,” Head Coach David Wilkie said. “He has worked extremely hard starting back in June and he has steadily moved up the team depth chart. He has been strong, physical and dependable on our defensive core this year and we wish him the best moving forward.”
Before his time in the USHL, the big-bodied defender played for the South Shore Kings of the NCDC, where he tallied 6 points in 26 games. Prior to the NCDC, DiCesare played for the Northwood School along with current Lancers forward Aleksi Peltonen, where he tallied 24 points in 39 games as well as for the Jersey Hitmen of the USPHL and the Omaha AAA program under Head Coach David Wilkie.
The Lancers return to the ice on Friday, February 22nd to face off against the Fargo Force at Ralston Arena for Pink in the Rink night. Puck drop is at 7:35 pm. Listen live all season long on the Lancers flagship station The Mighty KOIL News Talk 1290 AM radio or view the game via HockeyTV.com.
